This past week has been surreal to say the least. From packing and saying goodbye to the familar life surrounding me, to saying goodbye to the people I love, it was a little overwhelming. Despite this, I was filled with anticipation for the upcoming journey! Once I found myself in Guatemala City, the people welcomed me to their beautiful country with warm hospitality. My fears were quieted with my patient and helpful host family that I was introduced to my first day. As I am now starting language school, this is where the journey begins…
Prayer Requests:
To have an open mind while learning Spanish
For continued safety of myself and other students during this time
Blessings for the teachers and workers welcoming me
(Prayer of thanks because God is good!!!) for new friends, family, safe travel, and this opportunity to learn
Sara, I am so excited for you! Aren't the Guatemala scenes beautiful with their rolling hills of coffee trees , etc.? I've visited the country twice, both to be part of the adoption of my two grandkids from Guatemala. They were adopted at age 18 months, approx. and are now ages 15 and 18. Dylan is a freshman at Goshen College, and Eva is a sophomore at Bethany Christian School, Goshen. Learn all you can to teach us old folks. We welcome your service heart and and the adventures it will give you. Hugs, Ruth Yoder
So excited for you Sara! Can’t wait to see all your updates!
I am so glad you are in a good place! I can’t wait to see how the Lord works in your life.
